Global Africanism
At the heart of the United Kingdoms of Tikar’s (UKT) international identity lies a bold and unwavering commitment to Global Africanism: a modern movement rooted in unity, innovation, and the shared destiny of African peoples across the continent and the diaspora.
Global Africanism is more than a philosophy. It is a call to action for Black unity, cultural pride, and collective advancement in an era where African voices must be heard, respected, and elevated on the world stage. It recognizes that the struggles and triumphs of one African people are connected to all, whether in Lagos or Atlanta, Accra or Kingston, Bamenda or London.
The original purpose of Pan-Africanism was to restore dignity, rebuild identity, and create a framework for African unity beyond the chains of slavery and colonialism. Its founders envisioned African nations cooperating across borders, elevating one another through shared values and freedom. But this vision was twisted. Instead of breaking down the artificial borders imposed by European powers, post-independence leaders inherited them, defended them, and built fragile states inside colonial cages. The dream of Pan-Africanism was reduced to slogans, while the real work of uniting African peoples remained undone.
Today, Global Africanism demands that we return to the original mission: taking down the borders that divide us. Vatican City, with fewer than 1,000 people, is a sovereign state recognized worldwide. Israel, with a population of just 9 million, can defend itself against much larger nations and could destroy Nigeria, a country of 230 million, in less than 72 hours. Why? Because Israel is united, structured, and built on a clear national vision. Meanwhile, Nigeria itself is the forced union of territories carved up by 14 different European powers, a patchwork that illustrates the deep problems of artificial states in Africa.
UKT champions cross-African innovation and collaboration, working alongside governments, civil society, businesses, and young visionaries to design African-led solutions to African challenges. We support shared technology hubs, policy exchanges, pan-African education initiatives, and creative industries that amplify African brilliance globally.
Diaspora solidarity is central to our approach. UKT actively engages Africans in the Americas, Europe, the Caribbean, and beyond, not as observers but as vital co-architects of a free and self-determined African future. Through business networks, advocacy forums, artistic exchange, and historical reconciliation, we are rebuilding the bridge between the homeland and the diaspora.
Global Africanism also demands continental inclusion. UKT advocates for fair representation of African nations in global institutions, the strengthening of the African Union, and reforms that ensure Africa is no longer treated as a passive recipient of aid but as an equal partner in shaping global policy and progress.
Through shared leadership values of dignity, self-reliance, solidarity, and truth, UKT seeks to inspire a new generation of African leaders who serve people over power, communities over self, and freedom over fear.
Global Africanism is not a dream deferred. It is a vision revived.
From every village in Bamenda to every city where African descendants rise, the message is clear:
Africa must unite. Africa must lead. Africa must be free.
